Civil Rights Leaders Call Cali Swag Shooting Great Tragedy
Urge Rap Artists to Speak Out on the Violence in Rap Community
Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson and Los Angeles Civil Rights Assn. President Eddie Jones called the murder of prominent rap artist Cali Swag in Inglewood Sunday, May 15 a “great tragedy.” The murder of Cali Swag unfortunately continues the cycle of violence that has claimed the lives of several prominent rap artists in the past few years. They urged Rap artists and fans to speak out on the violence in the Rap community.
“Cali Swag is the latest in the list of rap artists that have been gunned down in recent years,” says Hutchinson and Jones, “The cycle of violence among some in the rap community that has resulted in the continued violence must be broken.”
